Important Note for Our Canadian Friends:
Before we dive in, a quick heads-up for our customers north of the border. Please be aware that you may incur additional border fees and taxes upon receiving your items. Montana Fire Pits is not responsible for these charges, so please factor them into your purchasing decision.
Shipping and Delivery: Inspecting for a Smooth Start
Shipping your Montana Fire Pit is a process we handle with utmost care, though occasional unforeseen events can occur during transit. Our standard delivery is “curbside delivery,” meaning the freight carrier will bring your fire pit to your curb, and you’ll be responsible for moving it from there. To ensure a smooth experience, immediate inspection upon arrival is crucial. Before the freight carrier departs, please open the crate and meticulously examine your fire pit for any signs of damage. Should you discover any damage, it’s vital to refuse delivery and contact us immediately.

Time is a critical factor in reporting any shipping issues. Our damage claim period is limited to just four days after delivery. Even if you don’t intend to install your fire pit immediately, please conduct a thorough inspection upon its arrival to prevent any potential complications. We partner with various LTL (Less Than Truckload) freight companies to facilitate deliveries. While we strive for seamless service, it’s important to understand that we have limited control over the individual drivers, scheduling, and the final drop-off process.
Returns: Understanding Our Policies
We strive for complete customer satisfaction with every Montana Fire Pit purchase. However, we understand that returns may be necessary in certain situations. It’s important to be aware that the customer is responsible for all costs associated with returning an item, including return crating, freight fees, boxing, and shipping charges. Furthermore, Montana Fire Pits is unable to compensate for any installation fees or moving/relocation expenses incurred by the customer.
Regarding order cancellations, a 3.5% cancellation fee will be applied if the order is canceled before it has been shipped. Restocking fees also apply to returned items, and these vary depending on the product type. For standard items, such as fire pits themselves, a 15% restocking fee will be applied, provided the item is returned in unused or like-new condition. For fire media, including rocks, logs, glass, and cannon fireballs, a 20% restocking fee will apply, and these items must also be returned unused.

Return windows are also specific to the product category. Standard items can be returned within 90 days of delivery if they are unused or in like-new condition. Similarly, fire media items have a 90-day return window, provided they are unused. Complete Fire Pit & RTF Systems standard items have a 14 day return window if unused. It is important to note that custom-made items are non-returnable. Lastly, a burner plate or pan is required for use with any ignition system other than match lit, so be sure to include this with your return if necessary.
Warranties: Protecting Your Investment

At Montana Fire Pits, we take pride in the quality and craftsmanship of our products, and we stand firmly behind them with comprehensive warranties. Understanding these warranties is crucial for protecting your investment and ensuring years of enjoyment. Our warranty policies cover manufacturing defects and provide peace of mind, but you must also adhere to proper maintenance and usage guidelines to keep your warranty valid.
Regarding burners and ignition systems, a critical point to remember is that all burners and electronic components must be adequately covered when not in use. Failure to do so will void your warranty. Warming Trends burners are backed by a lifetime warranty, and we encourage you to review the full warranty details for specific coverage information.

Platinum and Mercury ignition systems offer a 3-year warranty for residential installations and a 1-year warranty for commercial installations. However, please note that push-button ignition systems are not covered by any warranty. For troubleshooting ignition systems, have your order number ready and contact Warming Trends directly at 303-346-2224.
For complete fire pit systems, it’s essential to exercise care during installation, particularly when connecting the gas line. Using a soft blanket or towel to protect the vessel during this process can prevent damage. If you discover any shipping damage, you must contact us immediately to initiate a damage claim. Importantly, Montana Fire Pits’ does not warrant against cosmetic damage, such as chips, dings, scratches, or scuffs, that may occur during or after installation. To protect your fire pit from the elements, we strongly recommend covering it during inclement weather or seasonal changes.
System-Specific Warranty Details
Specific system warranties vary depending on the material.

Concrete systems come with a 12-month warranty from the date of delivery, covering defects in craftsmanship and materials. It’s important to note that hairline cracks are a normal occurrence in concrete and are not covered under warranty. To prevent scorching or discoloration, avoid burning on high in windy conditions for extended periods. Also, fire media must be placed at least 6 inches from the edges of concrete fire pits.
Steel systems offer a 3 year warranty for the powder coating finish and a 10-year warranty for fabrication and structure. Fire media must be placed at least 4 inches from the edges of steel fire pits. We cannot control the natural aging process of steel, but we recommend applying Ceramic Powder Coat Protectant to mitigate rusting.

Finally, please be aware that a 5% change order fee will be applied if changes are requested one week or more after the purchase date. Additionally, we are unable to hold orders at our warehouse. Therefore, please plan your shipping accordingly. A $25 per day storage fee will also be assessed. This is if your order remains at our warehouse beyond one week of the intended ship date.
